Writing from the Past (Part 4)

 Hi.

I'm not even sure where to start. I miss you. There's always that. Let's start strong, I guess. I've grown. I'm stronger. I'm doing okay. It took a long time to get here. My school year is almost done.I've made new friends and I've lost old ones.

I was in the play. I'm helping with the musical. Speech class is my favorite. I went to homecoming, football games, basketball games, and clubs. I ran varsity cross country. I'm on the track team. So many things, and I'm writing them down so you don't feel like you've missed everything.

I halfway fell in love with my best friend. He told me no. I have a new crush, and my heart is slowly healing.

It's a good life. If we don't have a someday, I'm glad we had a summer. I've forgiven myself. I've explained. I could never have enough time or words.

Right Person, Wrong Time.

 I think that the phrase "right person, wrong time" is bullshit. I wish I could tell my 14-year-old self that it's bullshit. I want her to know why it's bullshit. She wouldn't believe me, though. I wish she knew. The right person comes at the right time in the right way. If they don't come at the right time, it's the wrong person and the wrong time.  The right person will love you deeply, little girl. He won't make you cry. He will not tell you only the things you want to hear. He will be for you because you are, not because of who you could be. He won't leave you alone. He won't disappear without explanation. He'll give you good hugs and real kisses, not just the wish to do such things. He will know you like his own mind. He will be good to you. He will love you in a real and authentic way.  I'm mad at you. Yes, you. You know who you are. I'm mad because you showed me everything that I could possibly ever want in a man and then you left. You had a good reason for leaving.  I can't deny that. I'm mad, though.  I'm left looking for someone exactly like you. We both know that there isn't anyone quite like you though,  is there?
